FRESH MODERN - MID CENTURY GARDEN

Decatur, Ga

This garden is a reflection of the talented homeowners and it is a mid century modern wonder. The mid century home was built in 1950 and lived in by the architect who designed it.  Our clients bought it from the original family and kept the interior as is.  But the backyard became a haven to relax in with a swimming pool and outdoor terraces.

The homeowners travel for work so when they are home, they wanted it to feel like they were on vacation with their 5 kids, ranging in ages from 6 years old to 18 years. We planted evergreen shrubs to create a private retreat and used Japanese Maples to accent the different garden rooms.  The pool elevation was 30” below the upper lawn terrace and made for a wonderful jumping off point.
